"To withhold the Gospel from the Jewish people is the greatest form of anti-Semitism." —Barry Berger

Barry Berger was born in Chicago to conservative Jewish parents, receiving his Bar Mitzvah at age 13. As Barry moved toward manhood, though, he shelved his interest in God and religion and began a pursuit of personal pleasures and materialism—but he experienced no lasting satisfaction or personal peace. In 1973, a friend who had been witnessing to Barry placed his name on a church prayer list. Two years later, Barry Berger became a believer in Jesus the Messiah, receiving Him as Lord and Savior of his life.

Today, Barry is the director of missions emeritus for CJF Ministries. Barry came to CJFM as a seasoned worker. He pastored a messianic congregation in Chicago and later served for nine years as the national ministry representative for a large Jewish mission organization. He has been the keynote speaker for numerous conferences throughout the United States and Canada, and was chosen as Moody’s “Pastor of the Week.” Barry leads a messianic fellowship in the study of the Scriptures; his fellowship works alongside the local church and serves as an outreach into the Jewish community. He speaks in churches to impart to his Gentile brethren his love for the “lost sheep of the house of Israel” and his burden and vision for reaching them for the Messiah. He also teaches and shares the Jewish roots of Christianity, the feasts of Israel, Israel in prophey, and Messiah Jesus in prophecy, all from the Jewish perspective of God’s Word. He and his wife, Violette, live in Scottsdale, Arizona.
